There are exciting times ahead. Those of you following me on twitter will know by now I have taken the plunge and leapt into the world of freelancing. Having designed a single product for the last four years I ready to see more of what the world has to offer. But not just in design, over the last two and a bit years of running this blog and speaking at length to anyone that knows me I’ve developed many skills and talents across the fashion and social media worlds.
Let it be known I’m on the hunt for new opportunities, new experiences and new positions. If you’re looking for a menswear designer, a personal shopper, stylist, fashion writer or someone to help plan your social media strategy I’m here.
It may sound like I’m casting a wide net here, but I am so passionate about both fashion and social media I want it all!

Fashion is a fast moving, exhilarating environment and so is social media. In both areas you need to look at macro- and micro trends to tailor and craft individual responses to your clients needs. Not every suit will look good on you and not every social media platform is right for your business. Let me work with you to help you discover your self (personal shopping & styling), your brand image and future products (design, art direction) and your message and how to get it out there (social media)
It’s exciting times for me and this site. Who knows where I’ll end up or where you’ll see me next, but it’s most certainly onwards and upwards, and I’ll be sure to keep you posted on what happens along the way.

You really really should be following the brilliant talent of illustrator Quoteskine. Better yet buy some of his work!
Hey You Guys!

If you don’t know about Start London you need to be asking some serious questions. Or maybe it’s my fault for not hyping these great Shoreditch shops up enough. Home to the great Mr. Start line of formalwear, the shops are continually at the forefront of London style and design. The London Design Festival runs from the 17th -25th of September and showcase the best of London’s design talent. Start are turning over their beautiful windows to Harry Hasson (a former Habitat deisgner) and Ciara O’Neill (product design graduate). Last festival saw a lightscribing robot take over Trafalgar Square so it really is worth finding out what’s happening.

That’s the menswear window which will be showcasing Harry. I’m loving the depth of contrast and colour in these pieces. The look apparently simple but lovely. And would work brilliantly with the chocolate leather sofa currently residing in my lounge.

Looks like a trip out of the office and up the road to Shoreditch is in order. All in the name of research of course.

The ever expanding range of Pantone products has now extended to postcards. AMAZING! Forget photos of whatever place you were on holiday (I’m jealous enough already), forget vintage photos with witty captions (seriously I’ve seen it before), this is ridiculously cool. Perfect for scribbling a little thank you for a gift, dinner or the like.
Actually that’s not a bad idea, grabbing a collection of beautiful postcards to send as thank you notes. We should do this kind of thing more.
Trouble is once I’ve bought this box I don’t know if I could part with them, and what colours do you send to what people. Is crimson appropriate way to thank your gran for that birthday present? Should I colour match the card to the hideous socks I’ve been given? Perhaps a brilliant orange will best describe the glorious sunset I just saw above the beach on holiday?
I dont really care, I just want to have this little box of loveliness at on my coffee table.
Pantone Postcards, really want u.u

I’ve been thinking, (its a rare and sometimes dangerous occurrence) that this blog could do with some original material. It’s all well and good trawling other peoples styles and looks but what about my own.
Now much to my shame, the decision on what to wear of a morning is normally vetted on what’s clean, what needs the least (aka no) ironing, and what I can see through my half awake eyes. But possibly if I have to post what I’ve dragged off the floor in the morning it might make me make a bit more of an effort. So over the next few days and weeks you’ll be forced to drag your sorry eyes over what I call my own sense of style.
In addition to this, with work I’m being sent out and about over the UK and to Antwerp over the next few weeks. The upsides going shopping all over the UK, seeing the sights, different street styles, and places I’ve never been before (Newcastle I’m talking about you there), and not having a full week in the office for the next 6. The downsides many many hours on trains, the substantial report I have to file (complete with pictures) and some other irritations. So in order to while away the train hours, I’ll probably be posting here much more and hopefully with some pics too!
First stop Brightonia this Friday. So any recommendations on shops etc will be very welcome! Then in no particular order, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Brussels, Antwerp & maybe Ghent.
So its Sat morning, and having watched a film in bed, put some washing on and dealt with the house insurance, ascertaining why they have helped themselves to my bank account twice this month (not impressed at all but its all been cleared up) I am a little at a loss to what to do with myself. Sure the rugby is on later, (2 1/2 hrs, til the triple crown becomes ours!! fingers crossed) and Kylie et al are blaring out of my Spotify player but to be honest with you I’m a bit bored.
Its a lovely sunny day for the moment so I suppose I could go for a run or something…isn’t that what people do when they want to get fit and lose weight? Or instead I could sit here and bash my fingers against the keyboard like the 100 monkeys with 100 typewriters and pray that I manage to somehow churn out the works of Shakespeare. Though given the fact I only have a limited amount of time before the rugby begins that’s pretty unlikely. Instead why don’t I have a flick through some of the blogs I regularly peruse and share some design and fashion porn with you. I mean its not like I’ve anything better to do, and if you’re reading this then you probably have nothing better to do than keep scrolling down the page, either that or you’re procrastinating in which case I thank you as am clearly more interesting than cleaning! Phew!
Now it may have come to some peoples attention that I am more than a little obsessed with design, fashion and photography. But hey, that’s just the world I live in. So here are a couple of my favourite blogs & sites. Let me know what you think and also if you can recommend some others.
Brilliant Website with loads of really cool links and posts, both original and gathered from around the t’interweb
Become fans of these peeps on facebook and twitter to get great design updates from all angles. I’ve never seen a butcher’s shop as cool as the one here, and as for the architecture showcased here, well if I had a black Amex I’d be reaching for it and calling my estate agents every week.
To be honest though the facebook pages tend to be updated more regularly than the actual site, but that could be to edit things down, or catch up from their back catalogue.
oooh Mumford & sons just came on…’scuse me while I build a barn and have a wee dance. Love ‘em really.
Another daily read for me has become Toxel, love the utter randomness of this site, from cool clocks, to weird baths, great adverts, ingenious cutlery, flying hovercrafts and more. You never know how they are going to update the page. Sure some of it can get a little repetitive (I’ve seen the apple a day calendar a couple of times and they had a real thing for some headphones a while ago), but the randomness and general high quality keeps me coming back for more. I also really really want this calendar!
So there you have 3 of my faves, lemme know what you think! I’ll post some more fashion type ones soon and other rubbish I look at. Seriously I think reading blogs is becoming an addiction. I may need help soon. But until then am going to sign off and maybe go for a jog, but more likely have some food, pick some clothes off the floor and chill. It is Saturday after all.
So I have finally booked my next Tattoo. Am very excited though slightly nervous as the 1st sitting is 2 hours. The 2nd sitting has yet to be decided but will possibly be about the same.
Once the outlines are done I’ll post a pic of it, it’ll be about A4 size and between my shoulderblades.
Its going to cost a fair bit and wont be exactly like the image below as certain details would be too small.
Oh and I’m keeping with just black and grey as think the yellow would be a bit strange.

Its Monday morning and for a change my inbox isnt exploding with problems to fix (I’m hoping this means the factory have enjoyed their holiday and are making themselves busy doing my sampling) as such I’ve taken a few mintues to have a quick look on one of my favourite design websites Cool Hunting, after getting used to their redesign (which I really like) I noticed a great image in their style section. Clicking through brought me to a youtube clip from the Nice Collective showing their new spring collection.
I really liked their collection, and also the video which I thought was a great showcase not just of the cloths but also digital art and projections. Their stockists are in and around Soho and Covent Garden in London, and I will definitely be checking them out sometime soon. The collections part of the overall clean and slick website needs a little tweaking as navigating the images was a little challenging, but still worth a look.

JDS Architects thought that this trampoline net spiral—which would allow people to bounce from the top floor to the bottom of the Guggenheim Museum rotunda—could be the funniest thing ever.
Unfortunately—or fortunately for the people who may have broken their necks—it is just a concept, part of the “Contemplating the Void: Interventions in the Guggenheim Museum” exhibition. The exhibition explores different formulas to fill the open space inside the famous Frank Lloyd Wright’s building.
That would be awesome.
This is just amazing…please someone make it real!!

Whats inspiring me at work at the moment.
This panel gets updated most weeks with new shots, and randomness. So things stay and some things get booted out.

I spend enough time going on about other peoples work and what I love, so I thought I’d put up a couple of pics of my own work just to give a better idea of where I am coming from and what I’m about.
Hope you like.
