I obviously am getting around a bit these days. The Horniman Museum is about to host a new and exciting exhibition The Body Adorned charting how the vast diversity of London influences how we dress and how we look. They asked myself and the very lovely Sabrina from Science of Style to contribute our thoughts on what the London Look is.
Hear our thoughts below and if you’re in London when the exhibition is on definitely check it out.
Last Thursday Armani Exchange celebrated twenty years of being the most boisterous member of the Armani family, and like any good twenty year old they pushed back the sofa, and invited their best mates round to have an epic party. Though being Armani Exchange, their mates just so happened to be the likes of Rizzle Kicks, Dionne Bromfield, Zawe Ashton, and Jack Fox.
A|X have been celebrating the A|XX initiative all year with some incredible live DJ sets all over the country in store. Which have had fans trekking everywhere just to catch their idols performing intimate and exciting gigs. The street-chic look of A|X sits perfectly with these DJs and acts, and it’s great to see a brand really engaging with a new audience.
I’d trekked it back from West London to get there summoning fellow party lover Ollie en route, knowing she wouldn’t be disappointed. We weren’t. Lychee Martinis (I could be wrong) flowed well, and with Rizzle Kicks pumping out some classic choons that brought myself and Ollie back to the early 2000s not much could go wrong. Strategically dotted around the room were this seasons highlights, and whilst I’m not always a massive fan of Exchange (nothing personal I’m just not entirely their customer) there were a few pieces I could definitely be doing with in my wardrobe. That’s thing the thing with the Armani stable of ranges if one doesnt suit you another will.
It was most definitely a night for meeting and greeting as I bumped into the ever lovely Sabrina from The Science of Style, and Jason Boateng (who was jetting off in the morning to catch some sunshine in Ghana). I also spotted the lovely Jay & Charlotte from Dirty Pretty Things, and upcoming stars of stage and screen. All in all it was a fantastic night, great to meet new people, brilliant to catch up Ollie and even better as I managed not to be hungover the following day. Honestly I do more than just party these days even if it doesn’t sound like it. Still it’s the season right?
